KATALYST: BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

KATALYST: BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

@ 25...BUT FOR HIS GRACE

“And last of all He was seen by me also, as one born out of time. For I am the least of the apostles and am not sufficient to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been without fruit, but I labored more abundantly than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God with me” (1Cor 15:8-10-MKJV)

The word, grace has been defined in different quarters using different words. It is said to be ‘God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense’; meaning, we did not do anything, as it were to obtain it, it was just God’s doing at the ‘expense’ of Christ. Another school defines it as unmerited favour (that is the commonest, I believe). I also heard Bishop David O. Abioye the other day defining it as God in your race. You know, G-race. Summarily, it is God, working ahead of you and doing things you and I do not necessarily deserve. I have been a living testimony to the power of Grace. Quickly, let me state that every one has been given a measure of grace; I have called it The Given Grace. I need to say, grace is a distinguishing factor, it gives you an edge, you struggle less.It doesn’t matter who has more, it is about what you do with what you have, because if you make use of the one given to you, you should definitely expect increase (it is a principle). I believe God is surprised seeing man competing because He has given us, individually what we need to succeed. Discover and optimize your place of grace. I learnt a lot from Paul’s statement above.Let's break that down.

1. I am what I am: I have come to learn that God is the reason you are who you are. Though Paul said he was last to be seen, nevertheless that did not hinder him. The grace of God at work in his life even made him ‘ahaed’ of his fellow apostles. I have come to conclude that it doesn’t matter your age, grade, size, sex or qualification, when you find grace/grace finds you, all those become secondary. Indeed, I am what I am by His grace. How can you imagine a guy who could not stand to even define himself; was not given certain positions because he fidgeted? However, when he discovered grace, the rest has been history. My drive, my dream, my goal, my 'achievements' is all rooted in that G-word.How can you imagine a guy who has not spent up to 1 year in an organization, being told by his manager to develop a blue print for the business office.A guy who is the youngest in the Full Gospel business men fellowship (Jubilee Chapter,Kaduna)exco- i joined that organization at 23 when the minimum age to become a member was 25, i became an exco member just about a year.I sit in business meetings with men who are far older and who average millions as monthly income.Just 'promoted' again in the fellowship on the 1st of May. In the past 8 years i have discovered that by His grace, i don't stay in a place for 6 months without being handed a leadership position except i 'excape', though.

2. It was not in vain: See, God’s grace does not produce nonentities; he rather transforms men from such states to become significant entities. Remember, God makes no junk, everything He did was good. So. His grace beautifies us. It gives beauty for ashes, lifts from grass- ultimately to glory. Indeed His grace has not been in vain in my life. At a time, I was on an interview panel and the HR-Manager was asking if I had CV of friends who I could recommend to them. Imagine! Me who was looking for a job, being asked to recommend others. Na grace, my friend. I have too much to share. Wish you were around at the feast of praise last Sunday; I spoke on that line and have started receiving testimonies, to the glory of God. I was also in another stage of that same interview and the Regional director, who I learnt was a hard ended up spending 90% of the time talking. Say grace! It is not that i don't have 'downs' but grace covers all.

3. But I laboured: Dr. David O. Oyedepo made a statement that I have not recovered from some years ago; he said ‘I have refuse to define grace as unmerited favour, rather I have called it divine favour because if you call it unmerited favour, you make the believer lazy around and he will be believing that grace will be doing the work when he/she is suppose to be working’ (paraphrase).
Sir/ma, I concur. For you and I to make most use of God’s grace, we must labour (work hard) with grace. Don’t just wait for it, work with/on it. Labour, Labour, Labour. That factor distinguished Paul, though he came last-he became the 'greatest'. I see, no wonder he said. when he received the call, he didn't seek anyone but separated himself in Arabia for about 3 years(See Galatians 1). I said earlier that the HR-manager asked for recommendation, i didn't tell you that i knew more about the organization than they(the interview panel) did hence, they were impressed.Labour! Now, do you know that grace can be increased? I remember Apostle Peter saying ‘grace and peace be multiplied through the knowledge…so one way to increase grace is via knowledge. See, I operated in certain dimensions at a time and latter stopped. I had to go back to God to ask why; He told me, son, ‘your knowledge base must increase'. 'You don’t expect me to keep feeding you like a baby. Labour, son'. Another way to increase grace is via Desire/prayer. Deep koinonia(fellowship) is also another way. There are quite a couple of others. Just labour in the line he pushes you. I use to feel very inferior to my friends, I thought they were better but when I discovered grace, I saw myself as the best guy in the whole world(Yes, i am).

4. Not I: Not I, Paul said but grace. That means you get to a level that you have so laboured in grace that nothing works but grace. Grace takes up a personality here and begins to work on your behalf. No wonder, His word says, ‘come before the throne of grace’… Hmmmh, grace could be a personality. Friend, allow that grace to work for you. It is working for me in tremendous ways. I got confirmed at my place of work in exactly 6 months as stated in my appointment letter. It has not been the norm where I work. What more can I say, I have lots. I pastor a youth where i have much older folks.I make my boast in The Lord. But please pick the lessons and work with your own ‘given-grace’.
God bless and increase you real good.Do help me thank Him; 'For for my life, i get so many things to praise Baba God for'

I have lots to say but time will fail me.The past 25 years have been 'graceful'...i look forward to greater years.Let me us this medium to thank all who have been a part of this life, my mum and siblings especially. My pastors, mentors, friends, protegees etc. I can't begin to mention all of your names...I LOVE YOU.

N.B. I am still waiting for those who will send me tangible gifts. In case you are still thinking on what to send to this guy, let me give you some 3 options: pls send a Black Berry, Digital Cam or a Discussion Continues.
On the other note, I thought on what to do for this God of ours, thought I could write a book to celebrate this silver jubilee. I couldn’t, however, I have decided to organize ‘an evening of pure worship and healings’ on the 16th of this month. Please join me and friends @ Kakuri, Kaduna by 5pm.I will be speaking, not on Grace though but, 'HIS DESIRE'.
It’s gonna be great.
Catch ya!

Finally,
Zech 4:5-7

5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel(YOU), saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
